As a County Farm Bureau Manager, you team with local farmers to address agricultural issues while you manage the day-to-day operations of an association. You’re a facilitator who helps farmers learn about trade, economics, and policy. You’re an educator who teaches children and consumers about agriculture. You’re a public relations specialist who works closely with media and community leaders.

Your career as a County Farm Bureau Manager will begin with an in-depth, 8-weeks hands-on training program. Through this training you will learn:

• to work with and motivate volunteers

• to develop membership acquisition strategies

• policy development

• personnel issues

• legislative issues

• event planning

• public relations

• media training

• legal issues

• budgeting

• business management

• about affiliated companies

New County Farm Bureau Managers receive assistance from IFB staff and their IFB Regional Manager on a regular basis.

• Understanding of Agricultural industry and issues

• Exceptional leadership abilities and experience

• Solid written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently

• Solid multi-tasking and organizational skills

• Willing to relocate anywhere within the state of Illinois

• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree

• Experience with volunteer organizations

• Possess strong computer skills and have an understanding of technology

• Experience planning, coordinating, and leading meetings

• Experience in developing and working with budgets
