Have you ever seen a farmer pull his neighbor's tractor out of the mud?
You were watching a couple of folks be neighborly, but you were also seeing a business man helping his direct competition get a leg up. Quirky, huh?

Quiz Bowl 10This is what makes the farming community unique. Agriculture happily blurs the line between comradery and competition. The Young Leader program does the same thing. (Young Leaders are 18-35 year-old men and women who are passonate about farming.) When you join one of the  competitions, you'll learn new skills, make new friends, and yes, get the old heart pumping. See which of these leadership building challenges speaks to you. 

  • Achievement Award recognizes young farmers who have excelled in their operations and honed some serious leadership skills.

  • Excellence in Agriculture Award applauds those who aren't in production agriculture, but are still making great strides in the industry.

  • Discussion Meet is a mock committee meeting where you're judged on your exchange of ideas.

  • Collegiate Discussion Meet is similar to the discussion meet, but is restricted to college students in Illinois.

  • Quiz Bowl is a team trivia contest with ag questions that are sure to stump you a few times.

  • Penny Wars sees which IAA District Young Leader committees can raise the most change for the Harvest For All hunger drive.

  • Membership Contest asks you to boost IFB's political power by seeing who can sign the most new members.

  • County Chair Award salutes county Young Leader chairs that become true leaders.
