The "QUALITY OF LIFE ACTION TEAM" will prioritize and focus on one or two significant innovative efforts that relate to rural health, crime, and healthcare; as well as farm safety and other issues that affect quality of life for members.
Illinois Farm Bureau ACTION TEAMs develop ideas that benefit members and agriculture. Help keep these great projects going by asking members to join an ACTION TEAM. Projects have included:
Enhancing farmers' quality of life is what this TEAM is about. Watch for new resources for rural road safety this year. Last year, 15 inch digital photo frames were distributed to over 30 county Farm Bureaus, preloaded with health and safety messages that can scroll continuously. Previously, over 300 people attended Dr. Ron Hanson's farm succession and family communication mini seminars at IFB's annual meeting to learn more about planning for the future. For two years monetary rebates went to the county Farm Bureaus for the purchase of warning signs for the farm or rural roadways. Additionally, 50,000 Share the Road Safely fact cards with tips for farmers and motorists are still being distributed, as well as thousands of safety signs and stickers. Other projects have included health ads for farmers for use in county publications, "File of Life" emergency packets, and a CPR training grant.
