Chicago Regional Advertising Group: Food For Thought

The Food For Thought Regional Advertising Group is bringing the true meaning of "farm team" to Chicago Cub fans. The committee is running an ad in the Cubs program book and yearlong souvenir book. This ad reminds these die-hard fans how the baseball game begins in a farm field, not a baseball field.

The ad includes a code that can be scanned by smart phones and will take fans to a mobile-friendly website, www.ilfb.org/baseball, that shows the farm connection to baseball equipment and food. (See right. Click for larger view.)

Cub fans will see the wonders of farming, while on a train ride to the game, too! The Food for Thought Committee has purchased advertising in commuter trains and train platforms throughout the city of Chicago. These colorful ads remind travelers that 94% of Illinois farms are family farms.

These are the ads inside the train:

This large ad can be seen on the double-sized ads on the train platforms.

Plus, be sure to keep your eyes open on Tri-State 294 for the group's billboard!

The committee typically meets in February or March and the advertising usually runs June-July. The group is always looking for more member input, so please let your county Farm Bureau know if you are interested in joining this effort.
