The Illinois Soybean Association is
hosting two separate events for the 2014 Illinois Soybean Summit.
"This is Your Year," is funded in part by the Illinois Soybean
The first Summit will take place on
February 6, 2014 at the Keller Convention Center in Effingham,
Ill. The second Summit will take place
March 7, 2014 at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Ill.
This one-day conference brings together Illinois soybean growers
and industry representatives from many major crop input suppliers
and manufacturers. Both events will encourage growers to learn new
techniques and innovative practices that can help boost yields and
maximize profits. An on-site trade show also will be set up at both
General session speakers at the Effingham event include:
Eddie Tackett, a 100+bu/acre Arkansas soybean producer;
Willie Vogt, Corporate Editorial Director of Farm Progress
Companies; Kelly Robertson of KR Farms; and Bryce Knorr, Senior
Editor of Farm Futures.
Knorr also will be a featured speaker at the Peoria Summit along
with whole new lineup of speakers including: Bryce Anderson, DTN
Senior Ag Meteorologist;
Jerry Hatfield, Laboratory Director, USDA ARS, National
Laboratory for Agriculture and the Environment; and
Matt & Sherrie Kay Miles, Arkansas soybean producers.
Summit attendees also may choose two breakout sessions.
Effingham session speakers include: Fred Below, University of
Larry Schonert, TSM;
Dale Ireland, Syngenta; and Bill Wiebold, the University of
Missouri. Peoria session speakers include:
Joel Gruver, Western Illinois University School of Agriculture;
Randall Reeder, Extension Agricultural Engineer (retired), Ohio
Steve Ebelhar, Consulting Agronomist, Steve Ebelhar Agronomics;
Jill Clapperton, Principal Scientist and President, Rhizoterra.
The Illinois Soybean Summit is free to Illinois growers, but
