IDA to publish book recognizing family owned farms


ILAGcommbookThe Illinois Department of Agriculture has announced plans to publish a commemorative coffee table book recognizing thousands of Illinois family-owned farms. The book will focus on farms that are winners of Centennial or Sesquicentennial awards.

What's in Illinois Historic Farms?

  • A history and overview of Illinois agriculture statewide and by region.
  • The history of the Illinois Centennial and Sesquicentennial Farm program, including award criteria, selection process, and a complete roster of recipients.
  • Histories and photographs submitted by award-winning farm families.

How can my farm be included?

If your family farm has been recognized by the Illinois Department of Agriculture as a Centennial or Sesquicentennial Farm Award Winner, the publisher will contact you about your farm's history.

About the Book:

Illinois Historic Farms will be an 8.5 x 11 inch hardcover coffee-table book featuring smyth-sewn binding for durability. The paper will be acid-free, archive-quality for superior photo reproduction.

The book will be covered in luxurious swirl-grained leatherette stock with foil stamping on the front lid and spine.
