By the year 2050, the Earth’s population is estimated to reach 9 billion people. It is up to farmers to feed the world. Agriculture will need to become more productive, mostly by increasing yields.
The 40 Under 40 awards is a national program that recognizes young leaders in agriculture who will be influential in meeting the challenge of feeding 9 billion people. Do you know a dedicated and innovative ag leader that is under 40? If so, nominate them today and applaud them for their hard work. Whether they are involved in raising livestock, selling equipment to farmers, or conduct research for a university, everyone in agriculture contributes to feeding the world.
To be eligible for the award, individuals must be nominated by a colleague or fellow professional active within America's food system. Nominees must be 40 years or younger by July 30, 2014. The deadline for nomination is July 30, 2014. Nominees must be involved (owner, co-owner, employee, consultant, student) with a business in food production, food processing, food safety, etc.
