The future of agriculture is in good hands, as was witnessed last week when 37 of the more than 60 IAA Foundation Scholarship recipients were welcomed to the Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB) building in Bloomington.
Students heard about the benefits of Farm Bureau membership and the many opportunities to stay active and involved in agriculture while developing leadership skills through programs like Collegiate Farm Bureau and Young Leaders.
Students also got the inside track on employment and internship opportunities with Illinois Farm Bureau, COUNTRY Financial, & GROWMARK. In fact, five recipients in the room are currently interning within the Family of Companies!
The morning culminated with a luncheon with the IFB Board of Directors, who enjoyed getting to know more about these achieving students. President Richard Guebert, Jr. shared words of encouragement, challenged students to continue to reach for their highest goals, and to find a great fit in agriculture industry.
“These scholarship recipients are impressive enough on paper, but to spend one-on-one time with many of these students truly reinforces the amazing potential our industry has in store,” said Susan Moore, IAA Foundation Director. “It is also a reminder of how fortunate we are in agriculture to have such strong family and community support systems for our youth.”
