The 18th annual Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom (IAITC) golf outing, a fundraising event hosted by the IAA Foundation, took place Thursday, June 12.
200 golfers and 35 volunteers enjoyed the beautiful day at the Elk's Country Club and Wolf Creek Golf Club in Pontiac to raise money to teach kids about agriculture and have a great time while doing it! Golfers competed for a number of great prizes and ultimate bragging rights. A social hour, auction, and delicious steak dinner capped off the evening.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and participants, the IAA Foundation is on track to raise $40,000 from this year's event! The IAITC program will reap the benefits of continued free resources and grants for teachers and Ag Literacy Coordinators throughout the state.
"Each year I am pleased and impressed by the charitable outpouring from our golfers and sponsors. Through this one day event, we consistently raise over $40,000 to support local ag literacy efforts across the state. What a great reflection of the value and importance our members and supporters put behind Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom!", stated Susan Moore, IAA Foundation Director.
Be sure to sign up for next year's golf outing to get in on all the fun!
