The third and final day of the Farm
Progress Show brought another wave of new guests to the Illinois
Farm Bureau tent. Most of the big events were over, which allowed
the ILFB staff and county managers to spend the day talking to
visitors and handing our license plate frames, magnets and note
pads from RFD Radio.
One couple, Courtney and Donny, new Farm Bureau members, came by
the ILFB tent wanting to know what the Farm Bureau was all about.
They talked with staffers and learned about membership benefits and
how the Farm Bureau helps farmers and their families. John,
who farmed in Kankakee and Livingston Counties for 45 years, shared
his perspective on the Farm Bureau. John said, "The Farm
Bureau has always been part of our family since my grandfather and
my grandmother was part of the ladies group and was always active.

Another farming couple, Wayne and Sallie from Chrisman, who
farmed for 42 years, talked about how the Farm Bureau helped them
over the years. "We learned about new things, our gas was cheaper,
we met lots of neighbor farmers and made friends. We always
bought the plat books and enjoyed when we could save money on
things like tickets to the Farm Progress Show," Wayne and Sallie
By the numbers, it is estimated that at least 5,000 people
visited the ILFB tent at the Farm Progress Show.
