Five Illinois Farm Bureau members were appointed to serve on the 2012 American Farm Bureau Federation's (AFBF) Commodity Advisory Committees. Theses committees are made up of farmers who represent different regions of the nation and different commodities. The committees will meet in Anaheim, CA in February to develop recommendations for the AFBF Board on policies that relate to their specific commodities.

The purpose of the Commodity Advisory Committees is to help insure that as a general farm organization, Farm Bureau is serving the needs of all the commodities grown and raised by its members. States are given spots on the various committees based on how highly that state ranks in production of the particular commodity.
