Jesse Watters, political commentator on Fox News, will serve as the keynote speaker during next month’s Governmental Affairs Leadership Conference.
Watters serves as co-host of The Five and hosts his own show called Watters World – both which air on Fox News. He joined the network in 2002 as a production assistant and made his on-camera debut in 2003 as a correspondent for The O’Reilly Factor. Watters will discuss timely federal and political issues during the conference’s opening general session at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 19 at the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel, Springfield.
This year’s conference, themed “Taking Charge of Change,” features a compact, one-day format instead of two days. The event will highlight Illinois Farm Bureau legislative priorities and end with a legislative reception attended by members of the Illinois House and Senate. The reception will be held the night before the Governor’s address and when both the Illinois House and Senate will be in session.
Fifteen workshops also will be held covering issues from livestock to property assessments to an update on the Clean Water Rule. Participants also will receive updates on state and national issues from IFB’s legislative team.
“Members attending this year’s conference will hear about issues farmers across the state will face this year, learn some tools and tips to resolve them and receive updates on what IFB continues to do to help,” said Ryan Whitehouse, IFB’s associate director of national issues and policy development.
Members interested in attending should contact their county Farm Bureau. Cost is $75 per person and a discounted rate of $50 for collegiate Farm Bureau members.
