COUNTRY Financial Illinois winter crop meetings
Crop insurance and farm bill updates, weather and marketing reports and more all on the agenda for meetings. Find one close to you.
COUNTRY Financial specialists will hit the road again this winter to provide farmers with the latest updates to the federal crop insurance program.
The meetings, planned across the state, will kick off in December.
“Every year, it’s important to make sure you know the latest and greatest in crop insurance,” said Doug Yoder, COUNTRY’s crop agency manager. “We’ve seen significant changes in the last five or six years, and every year we see improvements to the program. It’s vital to make sure you are up to date.”
Yoder said farmers will also learn about new products COUNTRY will offer its customers starting in the 2019 growing season. Soil Type Plus coverage, he said, can be purchased in addition to federal crop coverage and will be tied to a farm’s soil productivity index. Yoder will explain four improvements to COUNTRY’s crop hail coverage that will be available next year.
Yoder will also provide an update on the 2018 farm bill.
Meetings will further include a variety of additional speakers, including meteorologists, grain marketers and claims representatives.
Illinois Farm Bureau members can get a preview of the winter meetings during a Macro Talk during IFB’s annual meeting in Chicago. The talk will be held at 4:15 p.m., Dec. 2 in the Water Tower Parlor, Palmer House Hotel, Chicago.
Crop insurance meetings will be held throughout the state in December, January and February. For a complete list, visit CountryCrop.com.
