Current Regulatory Flexibilities due to COVID-19
Pesticide Applicator Training and Testing
- The Illinois Department of Agriculture and the University of Illinois Extension extended pesticide licenses that expired December 31, 2019. Those licenses will now be valid through December 31, 2020.
- The Illinois Department of Agriculture and the University of Illinois Extension created an online testing process for those applicators that needed a new pesticide license for 2020. Information for online testing can be found on the IDOA website. As a reminder, these exams are being offered in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, all individuals who took an on-line exam and received a temporary license will be required to re-test in 2021. The Department relies on the integrity of the agricultural community and industry to safeguard the examination. Cheating, copying, theft of the exam or any other activity compromising the examination is grounds for license revocation.
Livestock Management Facilities Act (LMFA)
- The Illinois Department of Agriculture Bureau of Environmental Programs has issued guidance on perimeter sampling at livestock facilities for the 3rd quarter of 2020.
