IFB seeks Certified Crop Adviser award nominees

Illinois Farm Bureau and the Illinois Certified Crop Adviser Board seek nominees for the Illinois Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) Award. The nomination deadline is 4 p.m., Sept. 6.

The award recognizes an individual who has performed superior service for his or her farmer clients in nutrient management, soil and water management, integrated pest management and crop production. The CCA award is designed to recognize a crop adviser who delivers exceptional customer service, is highly innovative and a leader in crop advising. Eligible candidates must be certified in Illinois.

The winner will be recognized during the IFB Annual Meeting in December in Chicago as well as at the Illinois CCA Conference in Springfield. The winner will also be submitted to the state crop adviser board for consideration for the International CCA Award. The winner will receive a $150 gift certificate to Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse in Chicago, and the individual who nominated the winner will receive a $100 Cabela’s gift certificate.

A county Farm Bureau, an active Farm Bureau member or a CCA employer with knowledge of the nominee’s qualifications may nominate an award candidate. Other ag groups may suggest nominees but must work with the county Farm Bureau to have the nomination form signed by the county Farm Bureau president. County Farm Bureaus may resubmit a past candidate who has not previously won.

A completed nomination must include the nomination form. Applications will be accepted online until 4 p.m. Sept. 6.
