Knox County Farm Bureau member Krista Swanson of Oneida has been named one of three finalists in Syngenta’s annual #RootedinAg contest. Voting ends Aug. 30 at SyngentaThrive.com/contest.
Swanson, a University of Illinois research specialist for the Gardner Ag Policy Program, competes for a $500 grand prize and a $1,000 donation to her favorite local charity or civic organization.
Other finalists include Kathleen Sylvia Kelley Amaral, a University of Georgia graduate research assistant, and Tammy Wiedenbeck, farmer/co-manager of Riverview Farms near Lancaster, Wisconsin.
The competition, which began in March, invited growers and other ag professionals to describe the person who most inspired their agricultural roots. A winner will be announced this fall.
