From the President:
Illinois Farm Bureau was pleased to host a meeting with Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Rep. Jonathan Jackson (D-Chicago), along with all state commodity leaders and staff last Thursday morning to discuss 2023 Farm Bill priorities, Proposition 12, latest weather conditions impacting farmers, conservation funding and dairy marketing. Durbin serves on the Senate Agriculture Committee and Jackson is serving his first year on the House Agriculture Committee.
Following the meeting, Senator Durbin and Representative Jackson held a press conference in Earl Smith Hall with reporters to stress the importance of passing the 2023 Farm Bill before the end of the year and especially focused on understanding the long-standing bipartisan support the Farm Bill has.
