IAA Foundation names 2023 Scholarship Recipients

Seventy-five students were selected to receive IAA Foundation Scholarships based on their academic achievement, participation and leadership in school and community organizations, and their overall commitment to success. Receiving 394 applications, representing 94 Illinois counties, a total of $144,501 will be distributed to assist with tuition and fees for the 2023-2024 school year. Illinois Farm Bureau Legacy of Leadership 2023 Scholar: Zach Kampwerth

Entering his junior year at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, Zach is studying Agricultural Economics. From Carlyle, he is the son of Matt and Tanya Kampwerth. Zach is a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau and was selected for this distinguished honor based on his leadership qualities, well-rounded involvement, and his academic excellence. For his accomplishments, Zach receives a $7,500 scholarship. 

2023 IAA Foundation Distinguished Senior: Gage Miller

Entering his Senior year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Gage is studying Agriculture Communications and Leadership. The son of Travis and Starla Fransene, Gage is from Cambridge and is a member of the Henry County Farm Bureau. Gage was selected for this top honor out of 394 applicants, and for his accomplishments, receives a $5,000 scholarship. 

2023 IAA Foundation Distinguished Junior: Halie Kohl

Entering her Junior year at Illinois State University, Halie is studying Agribusiness. She was selected for this top honor out of 394 applicants. A member of Kankakee County Farm Bureau, Halie is the daughter of Jason Kohl and Lisa Patchett and is from Herscher. As an investment in the future of agriculture, Halie receives a $5,000 scholarship.

2023 IAA Foundation Distinguished Sophomore: David Mock

Studying Agricultural and Consumer Economics, David is entering his Sophomore year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. From Galva, he is the son of James and Miriam Mock and is a member of the Henry County Farm Bureau. Out of 394 applicants, David was selected for this award based on his well-rounded involvement and overall accomplishments and receives a $5,000 scholarship.
