FY23 Consumer Engagement Grants Awarded
Nine County Farm Bureaus were recently awarded grants to host nine consumer engagement events in their communities in the upcoming year.
Eligible projects include events that facilitate one-on-one engagement between consumers and farmers/agricultural professionals.
Projects awarded grants during this funding cycle include:
- Carroll County Farm Bureau – Ag Trivia Night
- Cook County Farm Bureau – Rancher, Farmer, Fisherman Book Club with Movie Screening
- Henry County Farm Bureau – “Bites of Knowledge” Charcuterie Board Class
- Kane County Farm Bureau – Public Planting - Illinois Prairie Pollinator Rain Garden
- Macon County Farm Bureau – Farm to Table
- Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau and Bureau County Farm Bureau – Cooking Classes with an Emphasis on Food Safety and Wellness
- McHenry County Farm Bureau – McHenry County Farm Stroll
- Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau – Farm to Fork Dinner
- Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau – Chamber of Commerce Ag Breakfast Before Business
Illinois Farm Bureau will continue to offer Consumer Engagement Grants to County Farm Bureaus throughout FY23. There are three remaining application opportunities:
- Q2 applications for events taking place in the winter (December/January/February) open October 15 – November 8, 2022.
- Q3 applications for events taking place in the spring (March/April/May) open January 15 – February 15, 2023.
- Q4 applications for events taking place in the summer (June/July/August) open April 15 – May 15, 2023.
Materials for the next application period will be made available on the Leaders’ Portal in October.
