From the President:

See below for a list of ways IFB has provided value to our members in August. I encourage you to use this as a tool to help recruit and retain members.

  • Huge crowds at the Illinois State Fair provided a great opportunity for IFB to engage members, elected officials and industry stakeholders. IFB also sponsored various livestock exhibition events and distributed t-shirts to youth exhibitors.
  • Farmer-leaders participated in discussions with Rep. Cheri Bustos, D-East Moline, and Rep. Robin Kelly, D-Chicago, to share Illinois’ priorities for the 2023 farm bill.
  • The Young Leader Committee awarded its Achievement Award to Evan Hultine, from Bureau County, and the Excellence in Agriculture Award to Kaylee Heap, from Kendall County.
  • IFB invested in the Corn Belt Ports initiative aimed at securing more federal funding to improve infrastructure on the upper Mississippi and Illinois rivers.
