ACTION REQUEST COMING – TODAY, November 7th regarding potential rail strike

An action request will be launched today at 8:00 a.m. Members will be alerted via text message and email alerts. We will be calling on FB ACT members to urge congress to intervene in the potential rail strike and order the rail industry and the unions representing the railway workers to accept the current agreement based on the Presidential Emergency Board recommendations.

If you have not heard, a potential rail strike is likely to occur on November 20th. Back in September, the Biden administration successfully brokered an agreement between the National Railway Labor Conference and 12 unions. Since then, two major rail unions have voted against ratifying the agreement. A potential rail strike during the midst of harvest and right before the holiday season will have a drastic impact on the already fragile US supply chain. Not to mention a complete shutdown will have devastating consequences for our national and global food security.

Alerts will be sent out this morning, but members can also join by texting ‘RAILROADS’ to 52886. Please encourage your board members to join this call to action by forwarding the link below. You can also share on your social media using the above graphic and below link to the action request. This action request will be live until November 19th at 11:59 p.m. Please note that AFBF launched a similar action request over the weekend. Members are welcome to complete both the IFB and AFBF calls to action.
